About Lindsay Michel
Lindsay is an RYT 200 Hour Instructor and received her training through Balanced Yoga Studio in Clintonville, Oh. She is trained in the Style of Baptiste Power yoga, which includes three main practices: Physical (Asana), Meditation (Dhyana), and Self-Inquiry (NiYama). Lindsay believes that these three practices combine to form a delicious recipe for vitality, mindfulness, empowerment and new possibility. Expect Lindsay’s classes to be vigorous, yet light-hearted, with aspects of Bikram, Ashtanga, Raja and Iyengar yoga styles. She enjoys creating a physically challenging environment, and is equally encouraging, uplifting and supportive. Yoga methodology continues for her way beyond the practice on the mat, and she believes that yoga can be a tool to end suffering in our hearts, bodies and minds. As a lover of music, anything goes in her classes…The Beatles, Drake, Classical, Blue Grass…you name it.
Linsday is a proud momma to three wild boys, which fill her days with sports, chaos, laughter and love. She’s married 10+ years to her childhood friend and bow hunting buddy, Scott. Most days you will find her with her nose in a book, hiking in the woods with her children or dogs, or on a long distance run, and she’s a bit of a hobbyist- photography, art, writing, gardening and canning home-grown goodness.
**Contact Lindsay directly to schedule a private one-on-one or small group session: 740-252-6339. Cost is $60 for up to six people and $135 for 7+ people. Privates are typically one hour.**
Favorite place in Zanesville and why? It’s a hard choice to nail this down, but if I have to choose, Id say Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl, because ice cream is life. I get the same sundae every time- peanut butter ice cream, peanut butter topping, and lots of cashews. Oh, and also Adornetto’s. How can one choose?
Least favorite yoga pose and why? Currently, hanumanasana. (Full split) I have a perfectionist problem and my hamstrings are tight from years of running. It used to be boat pose, but my practice is always changing.
Favorite quote? “We teach best what we most need to learn.” Richard Bach
I am a yoga teacher, because I need what yoga has to offer- love, acceptance and connection through the mind, body and spirit. I need these teachings repeated to my heart daily; my wish is to share that passion with others!
